From Melbourne, Australia Post publishes 3 to 6 business days for Parcel Post and 1 to 3 or more business days for Express Post on interstate routes such as Queensland. Orders of $100 or more ship by express at no charge.
Delivery times to Brisbane and Queensland
These are Australia Post's published interstate ranges, counted in business days following the day of posting, so weekends do not count. They are the carrier's estimates, not a guarantee, and it says actual speed depends on where in the state a parcel is going and on congestion in its network.
| Service and charge | Published range |
|---|---|
| Standard by Parcel Post, $9.99 | 3 to 6 business days |
| Express by Express Post, $14.99, free from $100 | 1 to 3 or more business days |

Express Post next business day postcodes
Australia Post lists these postcodes in Queensland on its next business day network. Eligibility depends on the postcode a parcel is posted from and the one it is going to, so you can check a pair in its online calculator. We do not promise next business day delivery.
- Brisbane: 4000-4209, 9016-9464
- Gold Coast: 2484-2490, 4210-4275, 9726
Dispatch
Order before 1 pm Melbourne time, Monday to Friday, for same-day dispatch. Orders placed from 1 pm go out the next weekday, so orders from 1 pm Friday and over the weekend are dispatched on Monday. Every parcel is tracked, and we email you when it is on its way. The delivery charge and the order total are shown at checkout before you pay.
About delivering to Queensland
Queensland is interstate from Melbourne, so Australia Post's interstate ranges apply. It is also the only state with two cities listed separately on the next business day list, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The Brisbane block runs from 4000 to 4209, which reaches Redcliffe (4020) in the north and Logan (4114) and Beenleigh (4207) in the south. The Gold Coast block runs from 4210 to 4275, covering Surfers Paradise (4217) and Coolangatta (4225), and crosses the border to include Tweed Heads and the Tweed Coast in New South Wales (2484 to 2490).
Several places close to Brisbane fall outside those blocks: Ipswich (4305), Caboolture (4510), Toowoomba (4350) and the Sunshine Coast around Maroochydore (4558).
Queensland is a long state, and Australia Post says actual delivery speed depends on where in the state a parcel is going. Rockhampton (4700), Mackay (4740), Townsville (4810) and Cairns (4870) are all outside the next business day list and much further from Melbourne than Brisbane is. Expect the long end of the range for northern addresses, and treat the plus sign on the Express Post figure as a real possibility for remote western and Cape York addresses.

Questions from Brisbane
What time is the 1 pm cut-off in Brisbane?
It changes with the season, because Queensland does not use daylight saving and Melbourne does. From early October to early April, the cut-off of 1 pm in Melbourne is 12 noon in Brisbane. For the rest of the year the two clocks match and it is 1 pm. The countdown on the site always shows the time remaining, so you do not have to work it out.
Is the Gold Coast treated differently from Brisbane?
Not in price or in the published interstate ranges, but it has its own entry on the next business day list, so an Express Post parcel to a postcode from 4210 to 4275 may be eligible in the same way as one to central Brisbane. We do not promise next business day to either.
Does the Sunshine Coast get next business day express?
Its postcodes, such as Maroochydore (4558), are not on Australia Post's published list. Express Post still applies at the general interstate range of 1 to 3 or more business days, and you can check a specific postcode pair in Australia Post's online calculator.
Do Queensland public holidays affect delivery?
They can, since Australia Post counts business days. Queensland's Labour Day is the first Monday in May and the King's Birthday is the first Monday in October, both different from Victoria. Brisbane also has a show holiday for the Ekka on a Wednesday in August. Allow an extra day if one falls while your order is in transit.
Returns
Unopened, sealed items can be returned within 14 days of delivery if you change your mind, and faulty, damaged or incorrect items are replaced or refunded under the Australian Consumer Law. Read the delivery and returns information.
AUBACWATER has no premises in Brisbane: orders are placed online and delivered. Own-label bacteriostatic water is supplied for laboratory use and is not for injection, infusion or administration.
