From Melbourne, Australia Post publishes 2 to 4 business days for Parcel Post and 1 to 2 or more business days for Express Post on same state routes such as Victoria. Orders of $100 or more ship by express at no charge.
Delivery times to Melbourne and Victoria
These are Australia Post's published same state ranges, counted in business days following the day of posting, so weekends do not count. They are the carrier's estimates, not a guarantee, and it says actual speed depends on where in the state a parcel is going and on congestion in its network.
| Service and charge | Published range |
|---|---|
| Standard by Parcel Post, $9.99 | 2 to 4 business days |
| Express by Express Post, $14.99, free from $100 | 1 to 2 or more business days |

Express Post next business day postcodes
Australia Post lists these postcodes in Victoria on its next business day network. Eligibility depends on the postcode a parcel is posted from and the one it is going to, so you can check a pair in its online calculator. We do not promise next business day delivery.

Dispatch
Order before 1 pm Melbourne time, Monday to Friday, for same-day dispatch. Orders placed from 1 pm go out the next weekday, so orders from 1 pm Friday and over the weekend are dispatched on Monday. Every parcel is tracked, and we email you when it is on its way. The delivery charge and the order total are shown at checkout before you pay.
About delivering to Victoria
Parcels are posted in Melbourne, so Victoria is the one state where Australia Post's shorter same-state ranges apply. Parcel Post is published at 2 to 4 business days rather than the 3 to 6 quoted for interstate addresses, and Express Post at 1 to 2 or more rather than 1 to 3 or more. That narrower gap means Parcel Post may suit you here more often than it would elsewhere, if the order is under the free express threshold.
The Melbourne postcodes on the next business day network run from 3000 to 3207, which covers the inner city and most of the established suburbs, including Werribee (3030) to the west, Lilydale (3140) to the east and Frankston (3199) to the south. Small additional blocks are 3340 to 3341, 3750 and 3755 to 3757 on the northern and western edges.
Some outer suburbs commonly thought of as Melbourne are not on the list: Melton (3337), Sunbury (3429), Pakenham (3810), Cranbourne (3977) and Mornington (3931). Neither are Geelong (3220), Ballarat (3350), Bendigo (3550), Shepparton (3630), Wodonga (3690), Mildura (3500), Warrnambool (3280) or Traralgon (3844). These addresses still get the same-state ranges, without the next business day network behind Express Post.

Questions from Melbourne
Can I get my order today if I am in Melbourne?
No. Orders go out by Australia Post rather than by courier, and it counts delivery from the business day after posting, so the earliest it publishes is the next business day. There is also nowhere to call in for an order: everything is placed online and delivered, including across town.
Is it worth paying for express within Victoria?
It depends on the address. In a listed Melbourne postcode, express has the next business day network behind it. In Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo the published same-state range is still 1 to 2 or more business days against 2 to 4 for Parcel Post, so the likely saving is smaller. Orders over the free express threshold get express either way.
How do Melbourne Cup Day and Grand Final Friday affect delivery?
Both are Victorian public holidays, and Australia Post counts business days. Melbourne Cup Day is the first Tuesday in November, although some regional councils nominate a different local day, and the Friday before the AFL Grand Final is also a holiday. Allow an extra day if your order is in transit over either one.
Returns
Unopened, sealed items can be returned within 14 days of delivery if you change your mind, and faulty, damaged or incorrect items are replaced or refunded under the Australian Consumer Law. Read the delivery and returns information.
AUBACWATER has no premises in Melbourne: orders are placed online and delivered. Own-label bacteriostatic water is supplied for laboratory use and is not for injection, infusion or administration.
